Three Key Roles of a Volunteer

As a child advocate, the CASA volunteer has three main responsibilities:

  1.  Serve as a fact-finder for the judge by monitoring the circumstances of each assigned case.
  2. Represent the child’s best interests in court by preparing court reports (written with the assistance of their Advocate Manager).
  3. Act as a “watchdog” for the child during the life of the case and help to bring the child into a safe and permanent home as quickly as possible.

Every volunteer is supported by an Advocate Manager who advises, counsels, and guides the advocate for the duration of their case.
